During the 1920s and 1930s, two Wisconsin
companies made dollhouse furniture which is highly sought by collectors today.
The Wisconsin Toy Company, in Milwaukee, was a family operation but produced
furniture of a quality that rivals Tynietoy. A hundred miles away, the huge
Menasha Woodenware Company briefly ventured into the dollhouse market as a way
to keep its workers employed during the Great Depression. Their furniture is a
delight to find and works well with the dollhouses and furniture made by other
companies of the time. This book provides a way to identify the hard-to-find
furniture made by both companies. It is the eighth book in a series of complete
guides to vintage and antique American dollhouse furniture. The book can be
purchased for $30.00 plus shipping by emailing Gardenmont@aol.com.
Patty Cooper has done it once more! Along with George Mundorf and Tracy Surrell, she has produced a superb book detailing the wonderful dollhouse furniture made during the 1920s-30s by two companies in Wisconsin. If you are a fan of vintage dollhouse furniture, this book is a must have! And, of course, it will make you want every piece both firms created for your own little houses. Purchase the book....and good hunting!
