Patty Cooper is working on a book about Dolly
Dear Accessories, made in Tennessee from 1928 to 1961. Because no catalog was
produced until 1958, it is difficult to document all of their production, but they can often be recognized by the use of thickened paint
piped on to ornament….everything from cakes to lampshades to spaghetti.
She would be very grateful to hear from anyone
who has Dolly Dear items (or suspected ones), especially those in original
packages.
The Dolly Dear vintage miniatures are adorable! I'd never heard of them until now but can see why they would be highly collectable.
ReplyDeleteI will look thru my stuff. I like Elizabeth, am not familiar with this brand.
ReplyDeleteTroy, in Patty's research she discovered that Rossie Kirkland (founder of Dolly Dear) had a grandson, Robert, who started the Kirkland's chain of home goods stores. They have been popular in the Houston area...you might be familiar with them.
